Zambia – Funding Lot #6

Given the more advanced stage of the off-grid energy market in Zambia and positive market developments already achieved through the BGFZ pilot programme, this Country Programme includes both an Launch to Scale (LS) Funding Window and a Direct to Scale (DS) Funding Window.

This DS Funding Window – Funding Lot #6 – is focused on incentivising experienced (either in Zambia or other Sub-Saharan African countries), Energy Service Providers (ESPs), with more than 50,000 Energy Service Subscriptions (ESS), to further scale up their sales of Standalone systems to low-income customers and customers in remote areas.

Productive use, clean cooking and the inclusion of institutional clients (e.g. health and education) will also be incentivised within Funding Lot #6.
