Following BGFA’s recent expansion into Burkina Faso, Liberia, Mozambique and another financing round in Zambia, the programme will be investing EUR 18 million of Swedish and Danish contributions in the Ugandan off-grid energy market.
A team of experts led by Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) is currently mapping the market, which will inform the design for the first funding round for Uganda. Local stakeholders are also invited to take part in shaping BGFA’s entry in Uganda at the in the Stakeholder Engagement Workshop Webinar, which will take place on 15 December 2020 from 10:00am to 11:15am Uganda time.
Shortly after the Stakeholders Engagement Workshop Webinar to be held on 15 December via this Zoom link, follow-up focus group discussions with interested private sector players will identify specific needs, challenges and opportunities and provide feedback and ideas for engaging stakeholders in the sector. The discussions will be held on 17 December 2020 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
Due to the need to observe the Government of Uganda/Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), participation in the follow-up discussions will be limited and will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
